Looking at clipping, balance, shape and basic scissoring on more common breeds and styles
Brushing up before taking a City and Guilds 7750-03 advanced exam. *
( By prior agreement we can arrange dogs for this exam at an additional fee*)
(On this course you have the option of taking the City and Guilds 7750-02
At a fee of £850 (Previous experience is necessary))

4 Weeks - 20 days £2,300
Your first day will generally be theory based, observing styling in progress, bathing
and drying and getting a feel for the environment.
We shall be covering health and safety/salon guidelines and looking
at the course manual and the 7750-02 syllabus (if applicable).
Then on your second day you will be introduced to the following practical
teachings alongside the theory in your manual.

Covering
Preparations, bathing, drying, clipping and basic scissoring,
thinning techniques on common breeds, Balance, style and shape
Handling and control methods
Equipment choices
Hand stripping introduction - Terriers and Gundogs
Looking at those finishing touches
Brushing up before taking a City and Guilds 7750-03 Advanced*
On this course you have the option of taking the City and Guilds 7750-02
Intermediate certificate at an additional cost of £250.00*

First aid
COSHH/HASAW
Health Check
Physical and Mental Welfare of Dog/Cat
Handling and control
Equipment and maintenance
Breeds and groups
Coat types
Vaccinations and diseases
Preparations for styling
Bathing and drying
Handstripping and clipping
Diary Pages


Your expected outcome and level of competence
At the end of this course the student is expected to be able to recognise and proceed
with any bath/dry/groom out/trim for any breed or type to completion.
Clip and finish any breed uniformly to a high standard and balance the dog with head
and tail incorporated into the style
To recognise and complete any top coat removal hand strip, ex border terrier

6 weeks – 30days £3,500
This course is an intensive Course designed for those wishing to start up on their own with no previous experience.
We will teach you all the skills required so you can offer a complete dog grooming and styling service to clients to a high level of competence.
In addition to the one month course, also comprising of:
Looking more in depth at: Balance, style and shape handling and control methods
Comparing different equipment
Clipping and scissoring
Thinning and blending techniques
Hand stripping
Looking at a larger variety of dog breeds.
Cat grooming

Expected outcome-level of competence
In additionon to the one month course the you will expected to be able to recognise and proceed with any breed, with a clip and scissor incorporating balance style and shape
To recognise and complete any hand strip
It is our aim that every student on this course leaves us with the foundations to begin a rewarding career in dog/cat grooming.
On this course you have the option of taking the City and Guilds 7750-02 Intermediate certificate at an additional cost of £250.00
By agreement and prior assessment we can arrange dogs for the  7750-3 exam at an additional cost.*
(We recommend a candidate has at least 2 years practical experience before taking this exam)

All Students are required to arrive at 9.00 and stay until 4.00 on all courses
This allows plenty of time to get settled before we start and enough time to finish off :)
We aim for each student to have access to 2 dogs per day, with 2 afternoons theory per week and some demonstration lessons
You will be required to complete some theory homework also
Please remember your camera as you are required to take before and after pictures for your portfolio/Manual
